"Sandra Ferreira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At four years of age, she moved with her family to São Paulo, where she lived until 1999. At the age of eight years, she began studying classical piano with private teachers and in 1988 she received a Pianist Performance degree from Jardim São Paulo School of Music. At this point she has performed as pianist and vocalist in several auditions, recitals and events and conducted several non-professional choirs: (adults, adolescents, women and children choirs). Along with her music career, Ms. Ferreira was enrolled in the Psychology Program at the Pontific Catholic University of São Paulo and in 1989 she received her BS degree in Clinical Psychology. Two years later, she started her professional training and studies in Lyric Singing with internationally renowned teachers such as, Leyla Farah and Carmo Barbosa. In 1992 she successfully auditioned for the São Paulo State Symphonic Choir, where she performed as a Soprano choralist and Soloist until 1999, when she moved to the USA to pursui a Masters degree in Music Therapy at New York University, after being selected with honor. Ms. Ferreira's professional experience and academic background associating Psychology and Classical Music reflects her commitment with the Music as a special, deep and captivating language, which has both individual and social powers, through its cultural, recreational, therapeutic and spiritual links to the human’s soul. In 2004 Ms. Ferreira graduated from the Boston Conservatory with a masters degree in voice/opera performance, which not only improved her performance skills but also has amplified her horizons and understanding on the power of music.
